2021 Toro de Piedra Reserve (Viña Requingua) Cabernet Sauvignon - Merlot - Carmenere 0.75 Ltr. Tinto
picture of

Deep, ruby-red color. Intense aromas of black fruits such as blackberries, blackcurrants, and black cherries accompanied by hints of cedarwood, licorice, and chocolate. On the palate, these flavors are confirmed. Beautifully balanced and lively overall, supported by fresh and slightly drying notes that challengingly complement the juicy taste. This results in an exciting and fairly long finish.

This Bordeaux blend (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Carmenère) pairs perfectly with a nice piece of grilled beef, delicate game such as venison, and strongly flavored cheeses.

climate

Warm climate with a Mediterranean rainfall regime characterized by significant temperature differences between day and night. This is due to the proximity of the Pacific Ocean and the Andes Mountains. Rain primarily falls during the winter.

soil

Deep rocky soil with sandy texture.

vinification

The harvest is carried out manually and mechanically. Maceration with the grape skins lasts for 3 weeks at a temperature of 26-28°C. After fermentation in stainless steel tanks, 85% of the wine ages on French oak for 6 months, while 15% is aged for 8 months on a combination of French and American oak. Following this, the final blend is made and the wine is bottled.
