Some more information about 'Château Guiot'
In 1976, Château Guiot was purchased by François and Sylvia Cornut. They immediately undertook a thorough renovation of the cellar and, in the vineyards, replaced the local grape varieties with high-quality grapes such as Roussanne, Marsanne, Syrah, Grenache, and Cinsault.
Gradually, the wines evolved to an extraordinary level. They were soon noticed by the president of the Languedoc Sommeliers, who in turn convinced a critic from Gault-Millau, and from there, the recognition only continued to grow. Robert Parker also quickly became a fan, and today Château Guiot is widely regarded as one of the top references of the Southern Rhône.
Meanwhile, Alexis and Numa, the twin sons, are continuing their father’s work with dedication and great confidence in the future.

The climate
The climate of Château Guiot is influenced by the proximity of the Mediterranean Sea and the surrounding natural landscape, resulting in a typical Mediterranean climate with warm, dry summers and mild, humid winters. The specific microclimate around the estate is characterized by thermal regulation, with cooler nighttime temperatures that benefit the grapes through nighttime cooling after the daytime heat.
Additionally, the Petite Camargue to the south and the Alpilles to the east provide further climatic influences. The pebbles in the vineyards absorb heat during the day and release it at night, contributing to the steady ripening of the grapes. This climate helps the grapes develop good concentration and richness, enhancing the overall quality of the wines.
The terroir
The terroir, composed of pebbles borrowed from the most prestigious Rhône appellations, gives the wines a distinctive typicity. The polished stones rest on a bed of red clay and release a gentle, warm heat at night that has been absorbed during the day.
